Year after year, the EU institutions, bodies, and agencies, including ENISA, the EU Agency for Cybersecurity and CERT-EU, join forces with many peers and partners to make the European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM) a success.
ECSM takes place in October. It aims to raise awareness over numerous cybersecurity topics, support hundreds of collective activities, promoting diversity and inclusion, and fostering information sharing among citizens and Member States.
ECSM debuted in 2012, as a pilot project supported by ENISA and the European Commission. Today, after ten years and over 9.8 million users successfully engaged, we are proud to see that participation is ever-increasing and that cybersecurity is becoming part of our daily lives.
At CERT-EU we value protection of the European cyberspace, we strive for vigilance and preparedness, but we also recognise the importance of strengthening our collective cybersecurity posture through awareness and education.
An inter-institutional kick-off
The inter-institutional kick-off of ECSM will take place on September 27, starting at 9:30 CEST. We highly encourage you to follow the event via web streaming.
There will be two sessions.
Growing ransomware trends: are the EU institutions ready?
A high-level political debate will focus on the impact of growing ransomware trends, the preparedness of the EU institutions, and the forthcoming Cybersecurity Regulation - against the background of increasing hybrid threats.
Cybersecurity awareness inside the EU institutions
The debate on cybersecurity translates into concrete programmes for the EU institutions, bodies and agencies, as they aim to increase awareness among their staff. This session will focus on testimonials and best practices that will inspire organisations to up their game.
Let’s stay (EU)nited against cyber threats, and of course, #ThinkB4UClick ;-)
One more thing!
Put your cyber skills to the test with the ENISA interactive quiz and get access to the First Aid Kit in case of cyberattack.
